Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
Dear trade fair guests,
I am very pleased that SicherheitsExpo is opening its doors in Munich for the 23rd time this year. As patron, I am delighted to welcome you once again to the MOC exhibition grounds of our state capital.
Over the past years, SicherheitsExpo has established itself as a permanent fixture in the field of internal security. In 2026, visitors can once again expect a high-caliber and diverse program: numerous exhibitors will present innovative solutions and the latest technologies. Key topics such as IT security, video surveillance, the protection of critical infrastructure, and drone technology highlight the broad scope and topical relevance of this specialized trade fair.
For many years, SicherheitsExpo in Munich has been distinguished by its innovative and forward-looking offerings, as well as by the high level of professional expertise demonstrated by its exhibitors. First-hand information and professional exchange at the highest level are guaranteed here. The trade fair thus provides a valuable platform for gaining comprehensive insights into current security technology developments and for gathering new impulses for practical application.
As Bavarian Minister of the Interior, the issue of security is particularly close to my heart. Security is a central pillar of our free society and an essential prerequisite for quality of life, economic strength, and social cohesion.
Dynamic technological developments – especially in the field of unmanned systems – pose new challenges for the state, the economy, and security authorities, and require forward-looking action. In light of the current geopolitical situation, police civil-military cooperation is more important today than ever before. External and internal security can no longer be considered entirely separately – they are closely interconnected and must be addressed together.
In Bavaria, we are doing everything possible to ensure the best possible protection for our citizens. It is no coincidence that the Free State regularly ranks among the safest federal states in Germany. For good reason, we say: To live in Bavaria means to live more safely. To ensure that this remains the case in the future, we are consistently combating crime in all its forms and responding decisively to new threats – including those in airspace.
Close and interdisciplinary cooperation between authorities, institutions, organizations, and the private sector is of great importance in this regard. I am therefore pleased that SicherheitsExpo provides an excellent opportunity to receive first-hand advice from the security experts represented here and to obtain comprehensive information about the latest technological developments.
I wish you inspiring discussions, exciting discoveries, and a successful time at SicherheitsExpo 2026.
Joachim Herrmann,
Bavarian Minister of Interior
